Bridget's Cradles is a 501c3 nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Kansas.
We provide hospitals with knitted and crocheted cradles to hold babies who were born into Heaven during the second trimester of pregnancy. We also lead a local support ministry and provide hope-filled resources online.
Our organization was founded after the birth of Matt and Ashley Opliger's daughter, Bridget Faith. She was stillborn at 24 weeks and 5 days on October 22, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Due to complications in Ashley's pregnancy and a poor prognosis given to them by doctors, Bridget's grandma, Teresa, knit a special cradle for her the week before she was born. On the day Bridget was born, Matt and Ashley and their families held her in the cradle, loving on her and making cherished memories with her.
You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
We provide comfort, hope, and healing to families grieving the loss of a baby in Heaven.
We desire to provide comfort and hope to every family who experiences the heartbreaking loss of a baby. We desire for grieving families to know the hope we have to see our babies again in Heaven through faith in Jesus Christ.
Bridget's Cradles envisions a world in which:
Our Christian Faith: We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in the hope of Heaven.
Sanctity of Life: We value human life and believe that our cradles hold God's most precious creation.
Integrity: We lead with honesty and strong moral character.
Compassion: We serve with love and empathy.
Generosity: We are responsible financial stewards and generous with our resources.
Community: We believe we are better together than on our own, in both serving and in healing.
Appreciation: We value and cherish our volunteers and donors.

What We Do
DONATE CRADLES TO HOSPITALS
Bridget's Cradles provides hand-made knit and crocheted cradles to hospitals in all 50 states to offer to families whose babies were born into Heaven in the second trimester of pregnancy. Memory keepsakes are provided to families who have lost a baby in the first or third trimester.
Our cradles are made by our nationwide team of knitting and crocheting volunteers and finished by our sewing volunteers at our headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. Bridget's Cradles inspects cradles for quality and tags them before they are shipped directly to hospitals. Our cradles are always provided to hospitals and families for free.
Bridget's Cradles supports families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss by providing resources for healing, and by sharing Christ-centered and hope-filled encouragement on its website and social media pages.
Bridget's Cradles raises awareness about pregnancy loss in the hope that babies in Heaven would be acknowledged and bereaved families would be supported in their grief.
Bridget's Cradles hosts various monthly gatherings of bereaved mothers at its headquarters, including the following special evenings:
A quarterly craft night with the mission of creating memorial items to remember and honor our babies in Heaven alongside other bereaved moms.
A monthly hope gathering with the mission of finding Christ-centered support, making friendships, and serving others through the ministry of Bridget's Cradles.
Wichita wave of light
Bridget's Cradles hosts an annual candlelight vigil event for bereaved families on October 15th, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, in Wichita, Kansas.
